Tip #1: Customizing Widget Bar
To choose what items appear on the Widget Bar, touch Menu > Settings > Widget Manager. Touch the box beside the desired widgets to place a checkmark; “uncheck” the unwanted widgets.
Tip #2: QWERTY Keyboard Typing Tips
Press the T9™ ON key to have the keyboard suggest words as the user types. Press 1@ for numbers and symbols. Press SYM for more symbols.
Tip #3: Changing from the QWERTY Keyboard to Keypad
Users can touch the keypad icon on the second row of the QWERTY keyboard to change back to the touchpad, or simply lift and tilt the phone back to the vertical position.
Tip #4: Scrolling
To scroll down a list of menu items, firmly press and slide the finger up or down the screen. Maintain firm screen contact and the scroll will be successful. Users can also flick to quickly scroll through the screen.
Tip #5: Viewing Photos
When viewing pictures in landscape orientation, the user can tilt the phone to the left or right to view other photos.
Tip #6: Opening the Widget Bar
Touch the folder tab on the left-hand side of the screen to open the Widget Bar; touch it again to close.
Tip #7: Shortcuts for Typing Web Addresses
When typing a URL with the virtual keypad, use the www. key, as well as the .com key to easily type in a web address.
Tip #8: Using the Magnifier in the Phonebook
Touch on the Phonebook icon on the Main screen. Drag the Magnifier along the side of the screen to flip through the letters of the alphabet. Release when the desired letter is reached.
Tip #9: Creating a New Folder
To create a new folder, touch Menu > Applications > Files > Create Folder. Use the keypad to type in the name of the folder and press Done. The folder will appear in the Applications menu.
Tip #10: Creating a Memo
Users can use the phone to create a memo or reminder, eliminating the need for pen and paper. Select Menu > Applications > Memo. Tap the screen. The virtual keypad appears; turn the phone sideways to reveal the virtual QWERTY keyboard. Create the memo and press Done. Users can create a memo during a call by pressing More > Memo.
Tip #11: See a List of Supported Bluetooth Profiles
Users can view a list of supported Bluetooth profiles by touching Menu > Settings > Bluetooth (or undocking the Bluetooth Widget) > Settings > Bluetooth Services. Press OK when done.
Tip #12: Activating Auto Redial
Users can set the phone to automatically dial back a phone number if the call is cut off during the conversation. Touch Menu > Settings > Call Settings > Auto Redial. Highlight On and press Save.
Tip #13: Rejecting an Incoming Call
Press and hold the Volume key to reject an incoming call.
Tip #14: Automatic Screen Lock
During a call, the screen automatically locks to prevent accidental screen presses or calls. To disable this feature, touch Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Auto Keypad Lock > Off. Press the End key to return to the Main menu.
Tip #15: Setting the Music Player to Play in the Background
To enable the phone to play music in the background, touch Menu > Settings > Application Settings > Music Player. Highlight Background Playing ON > Save.
Tip #16: Sending a Music File to Another Bluetooth Device
To send a music file to another Bluetooth device, touch Menu > Music Player > More > Go to Music Library > All Tracks. Touch the track to be sent via Bluetooth, then Send via Bluetooth Search. Touch the device to which you want the file to go.
Tip #17: Increasing the Size of a Web Page
While in the Browser mode, increase the size of the web page by using the Volume key.
